Tribute to ‘Brother Mi:
Brother mi,
I find it extremely difficult to understand what happened but I know, according to the scripture, I will understand by and by.
Brought up together by our grandparents in Osogbo, I grew up to know you as my only brother, hence I personalized you as ‘Brother mi’, adopted by some others including our mum till date. Our grandparents taught us and lived out love, hence we love naturally, genuinely and deeply, very fond of one another.
There are many things we shared that will remain alive in my memory. We were together at our mum’s 88th birthday on March 12, 2020 with your darling wife, no inkling that was to be the last time I would see you.
On the 18th of June, I felt an urge to speak with you, we were on the phone for about one hour, talking specifically and generally, little did I know that was going to be our last discussion. I will live by your counsel, God helping me.
Brother mi, I am very proud of you. You lived an exemplary life. You have surely left a vacuum which only God can fill. My consolation is in the fact that you are a child of God and taking your desired rest in His bosom. Please sleep on till the resurrection morning. Good night Olubunmi Olukayode Ayinla, omo Owosowoye. Sun re o.
Your sister
